Under the DigiShakti scheme, students have received devices from Samsung, Acer and Lava. Since July 2025, though, it’s been tablets only. Below you’ll find each model with its specs, plus every government order PDF, taken from what the official DigiShakti website publishes.

Tablets only since July 2025
Right from the 2021-22 pilot until the middle of 2025, a student could end up with either a tablet or a smartphone. The government order of 25 July 2025 (GO 463/77-1-2025) put an end to that, and every beneficiary now gets a tablet. That same order also cancelled a January 2025 order that would have bought 25 lakh smartphones.
Devices listed on the official website

The DigiShakti FAQ names three makers, Samsung, Acer and Lava, and the five models in the table. Bear in mind that the FAQ was written during the pilot years. For the newer tablets-only supply, the site hasn’t named any models.

Is my tablet tracked?
Partly, and the official FAQ is open about how. Every device is enrolled in mobile device management, or MDM. Its IMEI number is linked to your institute enrollment number, which lets educational and career content reach you through the DigiShakti Adhyayan App, the wallpaper and the boot logo. Report the device stolen and it can be locked remotely.
Plenty is left alone, too. The FAQ says it doesn’t track your call and browsing history, email and SMS, contacts, calendar, passwords, photos, files and phone number, or the apps and data in your personal profile. For each maker, the FAQ links a document showing how to check the data policies on your device.

Is there a list of students who will get a tablet?
No. No state-wide list of names is published. Your college can see its own students on the portal, though, and you can always look up your own record. Our page on DigiShakti status check shows how.
Need repairs?

Every maker has service centres around UP. We’ve put the helplines and the districts each one covers on our service centre page.
